Pay per head software
A whole sportsbook, rented by the player.
Pay per head software is the site your players bet on and the back office you run the week from, rented for a flat weekly fee per active player. This page explains what should be in it, what it costs, and how to check a provider before you trust one with your book.
What is pay per head software?
Pay per head software is a rented sportsbook platform for independent bookies and agents. The provider runs the betting site, the lines, the grading and the reports. The bookie brings the players, sets their limits and settles with them. The bill is a flat weekly fee for each player who was active that week. At BookiePerHead that fee is $8 on Standard and $11 on Pro.
What is in it
What the software has to cover.
Any pay per head platform worth renting does four jobs. If one is missing, you end up doing it by hand.
The betting site
Where your players log in and bet, on a phone or a computer: a sportsbook with lines on the major sports, a racebook and a casino.
The lines and the grading
Prices on every game, moved as the market moves, and every bet graded when the result is in. This is the part no single agent can do alone.
The back office
Open an account, set a limit by player, by sport or by bet type, and give sub-agents their own players and figures.
The weekly figures
Who won, who lost and who owes what, ready when the week closes, so settling is reading a report and not rebuilding one.
What it costs
You pay for who bet, not for who you list.
The rate
$8 per active player per week on Standard, with the sportsbook, racebook and digital casino. $11 on Pro, which adds live betting and Bet Builder. Live dealer casino is $13 for each player who uses it.
What active means
A player is active in a week when he had a bet graded that week. A player who logged in and did nothing costs you nothing.
What is not on the bill
No percentage of what your players lose, on the sportsbook or the casino, and no long-term commitment. There is a weekly minimum, set against your book when we talk.
Before you choose
Five checks to run on any provider.
These work on us as well as on anyone else. A provider that answers all five in writing is worth a demo.
Ask what active means
Every provider bills per active player and few say what counts. Get the definition in writing, because it decides the size of every bill.
Ask for the whole weekly bill
A low headline price can leave out live betting, the casino or props. Ask what a normal week costs with everything your players use.
Ask who takes a cut
Some providers take a percentage of casino losses on top of the fee. Ask directly, and ask about the sportsbook too.
Ask who answers on a Sunday
Problems arrive when the games do. Find out whether a person answers, and in which languages.
Ask how you would leave
Before you move in, ask how you get your players, limits and balances back out. A provider that makes leaving hard is telling you something.
What it is not
What the software does not do.
BookiePerHead is software and support. We take no wagers, hold no player money and pay no players. The book, its credit and its settling belong to the agent.
Renting software does not give anyone a licence, and it does not change what is lawful where you and your players are. That question is yours, and it is worth a conversation with a lawyer before you take a bet.
Coming from another provider
Already on a platform? Moving is free.
Most agents who call us already rent software somewhere. We bring your players, their limits and your agent structure across for you, at no cost, in 48 hours or less.
You pay by the week and can pay in crypto. If it does not suit your book, you can leave at the end of any week.
Questions
Asked about pay per head software
- Is pay per head software the same as bookie software?
- In practice, yes. Bookie software is the general name, and pay per head describes how it is billed: a flat weekly fee for each active player instead of a licence or a share of the action.
- How much does pay per head software cost?
- At BookiePerHead it is $8 per active player per week on Standard and $11 on Pro, which adds live betting and Bet Builder. Live dealer casino is $13 per player who uses it. There is a weekly minimum, set against your book.
- Do I need technical skills to use it?
- No. The provider runs the site, the lines and the grading. You manage players, limits and sub-agents from a back office that works on a phone.
- Does the software provider take my players' bets?
- No. BookiePerHead takes no wagers and holds no player money. The agent carries the action and settles with his own players.
- Can I move from another pay per head provider?
- Yes. We move your players, limits and agent structure for you, free, in 48 hours or less.
